Scar Release Manual Therapy

What is Scar Therapy?

As your body heals after an injury, scar tissue forms. Scar tissue is fibrotic and less mobile then pre-injury. Adhesions may form, sticking together layers under the skin.

The RESTORE method is a non-invasive physical therapy developed to treat scar tissue, fibrosis and adhesions. Using specialist scar massage
and fascial release, therapy tools and self-care advice to promote healthy recovery.

How does it help?

RESTORE scar therapy can help stimulate your scar and the underlying tissue to decongest, remodel, become more flexible and decrease restrictions.

– Reduce common symptoms, such as pain and sensitivity.
– Stimulate change to scar tissue on the skin surface, and to adhesions or fibrosis in the underlying tissue.
– Promote functional and cosmetic improvements after surgery or injury creates scar tissue.
– Treatment can help reduce symptoms related to your surgery or injury, for example: Using specialist scar massage and fascial techniques, at the right pace and pressure to suit you, and providing self-care advice for caring for your scar at home.

Does it hurt?

The Restore method is very light and gentle, but gets incredible results!

Can old scars benefit?

Ideally book a RESTORE scar therapy appointment in the first 6-12 months after an injury or surgery (even if you are not experiencing any unwanted complications). Treatment is effective in older scars too, it’s never too late to benefit from scar treatment.

Will my scar vanish?

No, we can’t make your scar tissue disappear. Results vary, and early treatment is recommended for best cosmetic improvements. It’s never too late and old scars can benefit as well.
